The American International School of Vilnius is undergoing a major transformation, uniting its existing structures into a cohesive, contemporary educational complex. The project redefines the school’s architectural and spatial identity, balancing historical context with modern learning needs.

The new design merges multiple volumes into a single composition through a central axis — a multifunctional hall and atrium that become the school’s social and spatial heart. This core connects classrooms, administrative areas, and shared learning spaces, ensuring fluid circulation and interaction. The roofline interprets traditional pitched forms in a contemporary language: broken geometries and varied slopes blend harmoniously with the surrounding urban fabric while expressing modernity and lightness.

The site masterplan extends learning beyond the walls, transforming the campus into an active landscape for education, recreation, and community life. Functional zones — from open-air classrooms and terraces to sports fields, courtyards, and gardens — encourage movement, creativity, and well-being throughout all seasons.

Architecturally, the project establishes a dialogue between past and future — preserving existing structures while reimagining them through new forms, materials, and connections. The result is a vibrant, open, and inclusive learning environment that reflects the international character of the school and the evolving educational landscape in Vilnius.
