For our client Komfovent, a leading ventilation equipment manufacturer, 2L Architects developed a new production complex in Kaišiadorys Industrial District. The architectural concept reflects the company's technological innovation through dynamic, human-scaled forms. The massive volume is visually broken down with curved facade elements and playful segmentation, evoking the image of air flow and folded ductwork.
The building uses a palette of durable, industrial-grade materials: precast three-layer concrete panels, vertical and horizontal insulated sandwich panels, aluminum-glass façade elements, and PVC roofing. Neutral greys dominate the exterior, accentuated by carefully integrated glass zones and shading systems.
Functionally, the project accommodates production, logistics, administrative, and recreational zones, carefully integrated into the site’s natural slope. The facility achieves a strong balance between operational efficiency and architectural expressiveness, emphasizing Komfovent’s identity and commitment to quality.

Concept Schemes

While industrial buildings often lean towards a laconic functionalism, our design for the Komfovent production facility aimed higher. We strived to create a unique architectural statement that not only fulfills its operational needs but also distinctly represents the Komfovent brand. The result is a testament to our ability to elevate even the most pragmatic structures into something truly distinctive.

Our architectural vision for the Komfovent production facility drew direct inspiration from the very products it manufactures: the rounded forms of ventilation air ducts. We meticulously translated these circular geometries into the building's elevation, most notably in the softened corners of the main facade's stepped segments. This subtle yet significant design choice visually connects the building to Komfovent's core business, making the architecture an integral part of its brand identity.

Given the sheer scale of the Komfovent production facility, introducing rhythm was crucial to create a more human-scaled and visually engaging main elevation. We achieved this by meticulously segmenting the facade into smaller, stepped sections. This deliberate "cutting up" of the large surface breaks down its mass, ensuring the building feels proportionate and less imposing.

To achieve a monumental and impeccably clean aesthetic, symbolizing the pure air produced by Komfovent, we chose concrete as the primary material for the building's facade. This robust and unadorned material perfectly conveys the desired sense of purity and enduring quality. The result is a structure that is both impressive in scale and visually resonant with the essence of clean air technology.
