Morenowe school – Gdansk, Poland

Marking our firm's first venture abroad, this school in Poland is thoughtfully designed in response to its residential setting, the presence of established trees, and the natural incline of the land in the south of Gdańsk. Recognizing the potential of the site's topography, the design maximizes window views towards the adjacent greenery, ensuring bright and welcoming interiors. Organized around a central inner courtyard, the school comprises three interconnected masses that visually and physically adapt to the varying terrain. A protected and comfortable courtyard provides a dedicated play area for children. The sloping terrain also presents a logical direction for potential future growth of the school. The architectural design draws direct inspiration from the land's form, orienting a dynamic building volume to capture sunlight and views towards the adjacent forest and city panorama. The material palette and color scheme are sensitively chosen to harmonize with the surrounding landscape and nearby buildings, creating a cohesive and timeless architectural presence that completes the overall urban plan of the area.
